PRECARE Lip/Skin Preparation:

*To perform a cosmetic tattoo procedure on the lips, the skin of your lips MUST be hydrated and moisturized on the day of your appointment. Clients Must begin a daily lip regiment at least 5 days before your appointment.

*If skin is overly dry, cracked, peeling, blistered, burnt, has scabs, or pimples on the day of your appointment, Stephanie reserves the right to cancel your appointment. Procedure cannot be performed if the skin is not properly prepared.

* Do not take any blood thinners, such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Niacin, Fish Oil, or Vitamin E at least 48 hours before procedure. Tylenol can be taken 30 minutes before your treatment without any contraindications.

*COLD SORES: For all clients who are prone to cold sores, clients MUST contact their physician and request a prescription for Zovirax or Valtrax. Clients must take the prescribed medication starting 2 days before their scheduled appointment and for 3 days after.

*Do not consume caffein products the day of procedure.

*Do not drink alcohol 48 hours before the appointment.

*If client gets lip filler, must wait at least 2 weeks after their filler appointment.

*If client has any piercings on or around the lip area, he/she must remove before starting the procedure. Client can place back in after 7 days after the healing of the lip blushing.

POSTCARE

The following must be avoided during all 7-10 days post treatment:
*increased sweating
*no pools, oceans, saunas
*avoid exposure to UV/UVA rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color and premature fading.
*avoid touching the treatment area except for when applying the post-care ointment.
*avoid picking, peeling, scratching the treatment area

DAY 1
Immediately following the procedure, lips with feel dry, chapped, tight and tender to the touch. They will also appear very vibrant in color. Client will need to gently blot the lips with antiseptic wipe in the first hour after procedure and start applying the given lip ointment, as needed, to keep the lips constantly moist. No kissing, rubbing, licking, touching, biting during the whole healing process. Before bed, gently pat the lips with luke warm water. Gently pat the lips with a clean paper towel and apply the given lip balm after. Do not wash the lips for the next 3-5 days on the healing process.

DAY 2-3
Client must apply given ointment to the lips several times a day to keep the area moist at all times. Avoid oily, spicy, and/or heavily seasoned foods. Clients must also ALWAYS drink with a straw during this time(no matter if its hot or cold).

DAY 4-7
Between these days, the lips will begin and end the process of peeling. Do not pick or rub your lips. Continue keeping the lips moist and let the peeling occur naturally. it is between these days that the color will lighten approximately 30-50%.

WEEK 2
Lips are done peeling and color has lightened. Client may return to normal routine. Lips will continue to heal, up to 4 weeks. Every week more color may come back. It is highly advised to continue to keep the lips moist to get the best color retention at the end of the healing phase.
